Personal story
As a military brat (as we’re affectionately known) and an elite swimmer, I grew up in a community that valued leadership, team, and grit more than most. This sparked my interest in purpose, identity, and high performance – and how our understanding of these shapes the world around us. My research started by looking backwards, when I moved to London to study history. Since then, I’ve continued to be fascinated by what drives and motivates people but now tend to focus more on those in the present day. Outside of work, I enjoy connecting with friends, strolling through the city, and BBC4 documentaries.
